Grass Roots tournaments and competitions in 2006

April 8, 2006 : Euro Indoor Mini Tournament

Why: A club team called Gryphons from Holland will be visiting London on this weekend.

Where : Sheppards Bush – London

Date: Saturday 8th of April 2006

Time: First game at 14:00 until 18:00 - Prize giving after last game.

Cost: £5 per player. The money is to be given to your team coach or manager.

Teams: Any team can enter, currently Grypons, London Angels and Heyford Diamonds.

To bring: Teams to bring their own equipment and players to bring something to eat and drink. Players can only wear trainers.

Higher Ground Clinics from USA comes to London

July 22-23, 2006:

Clinic held by Bobby Simpson from Higher Ground Clinics in the United States

The 2006 Higher Ground International Softball camp will be a two day international camp under the leadership of Bobby Simpson (ex GB womens Head Coach). The camp will involve a staff of highly qualified instructors from several nations. Players will learn advanced skills, with sesions on July 22 emphasizing defensive skills and July 23 allowing players to improve their offensive skills. The Higher Ground camp format will allow players to choose from a number of sessions so that you can be involved in topics most appropriate for your personal needs. Cost: One day only = £40 per player; Two days = £70 per player. Cheques payable to BSUK - please write down players name at the back of the cheque.

Giveaways: Each player will receive an attendance certificate and a free Higher Ground T-shirt.

July 25-26, 2006: UK International Junior Cup

A two day tournament called 'UK International Junior Cup' The Winners and Runners up of the UK Grass Roots National Championships 2005 in the U-13 and U-16 age group will qualify for automatic entry.

Cost: £150 per team with an umpire and £250 per team without an umpire.

Entry deadline: 31 April 2006

Venue: Riverside Lands, Chiswick London (directions available on our about us page)

Nearest airports: Heathrow (and Gatwick)

Teams entered so far: Four teams from the UK and a team from the USA.

Accommodation: We have details of surrounding accommodation options. Please email Carrie Wisen on carrie.wisen@baseballsoftballuk.com for a list.

Transport: We have a list of coach companies that you could contact. Please email Carrie Wisen for a list of available companies.

Food: We will have catering on site.

First Aid: We will have a company called Sports Therapy taking care of all our first aid needs.

On sale: We will be selling tournament T-shirts between £10-£15 each.

Parking: There is ample enough parking alongside the fields in a designated parking area. No vehicles are allowed on the field.

Equipment: Teams to bring all the equipment that they will need. We will supply balls for games, umpires and bases.
