GB AND SOE TRIALS - SECOND AND LAST DATE - SUNDAY 2ND OF APRIL 2006 AT ST MARY'S COLLEGE FROM 11AM TO 14:30PM - TENNIS HALL
All players that would like to be considered for GB junior and SOE teams in the u13 and u16 age group are invited to the second and last trials. If you came along to the 5th of March trials you are encouraged to come along again. This is also an opportunity for players who unfortunately could not make the first set of trials to be present at these trials. Unfortunately this is the last set of trials we will be holding and teams will be chosen shortly after the 2nd of April 2006.
All players are asked to bring a healthy snack and DO NOT FORGET YOUR WATER BOTTLES.
Games scheduled for that day are postponed and Tanya Price will contact coaches directly to arrange a re-scheduled date.
If you require any further information with reference to the GB juniors and/or School of Excellence teams please contact Virginia Cardoza on vsc@baseballsoftballuk.com our Game Development Director.

NEW IMPORT PITCHER JOINS GRASS ROOTS
Carrie Wisen, who graduated from Notre Dame University in the USA, arrived in the UK on 27 January 2006. Carrie will be with us until September and will coach all our hopeful olympic junior pitcher stars. Please keep an eye on our calendar page for her schedule.
Carrie will be setting up pitching academies shortly and will invite 'elite' pitchers to join this programme, however, she will continue weekly to be in each Grass Roots area, delivering 'area' pitching lessons. All are welcome in any 'area' pitching session. We are really pleased to have her here and look forward to creating a much needed pitching programme in the UK.

GRASS ROOTS WELCOMES NEW AREAS
Feb 6, 2006
The Grass Roots Fastpitch ProgrammeThe following new teams and area's:
Norfolk in Norwich has come on board as a new area bringing along with them 6 new teams namely: Reepham High, Sherringham High, Fakenham High (2 teams), Neatherd High, Broadland Secondary School. This area has entered in the U13 age group.
Dorset : Is very new and at this stage still doing introduction sessions. We wish them all the best of luck in starting up a league with a very enthusiastic coach, Tracey Adams.
Milton Keynes : Keith Sherman, actively involved in the baseball community, is intending on bringing girls softball on board during the summer to enable the girls playing baseball at a younger age, to move onto something a little more ‘girly'. Keith, we look forward to starting fastpitch girls in Milton Keynes and know this will benefit the North area of our programme tremendously.
Waldegrave Secondary School : WE have not officially welcomed Waldegrave who started in the summer last year, but unfortunately due to no league structure there, they were unable to participate in games. However, this year the Richmond U16 league is off the ground and this team is being coached and managed by two very enthusiastic people namely: Peter Berg (teacher) and Cathy Almond (parent).
Tanya Price of the Grass Roots Programme said, "I would like to say welcome to everyone and I really look forward to seeing if not all, but a lot of you at the Grass Roots Nationals this year!"
